Pakistan’s young wrestling talent, Hassan Ali Bhola, made the nation proud by securing the bronze medal in the 70kg beach wrestling event at the Asian Youth Games 2025, held at Sama Bay, Bahrain, on Thursday.
In a decisive performance, Hassan dominated his bronze medal bout against Tajikistan’s Idris Bakhromov, winning convincingly by 2-0. The victory marks Pakistan’s third medal at the ongoing Games a testament to the country’s growing presence in youth sports.
Earlier in the competition, Pakistan’s kabaddi team earned a bronze medal, while the volleyball team clinched silver after a hard-fought final against Iran on Wednesday night.
Although Hassan was seen as a strong contender for gold, he narrowly missed a spot in the final after losing a closely contested semifinal 2-1 to Iran’s Sina Shokouhi. Another Pakistani wrestler, Abdul Rehman, also delivered a commendable performance but fell short in his bronze medal match, losing 2-0 to Jordan’s Zaid Naghouj.
The Pakistan Olympic Association (POA) extended warm congratulations to all the medal-winning athletes, praising their dedication and hard work.
