In 2024, Pakistan’s IT sector achieved a remarkable milestone with local developers launching 1,053 mobile applications, marking a significant leap forward for the country’s digital economy. This surge in innovation has propelled Pakistan ahead of nations like the Philippines, Indonesia, Mexico, and Egypt in terms of mobile app development and global market reach.
Government officials credit the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC) for playing a pivotal role in shaping an ecosystem that nurtures creativity, attracts both local and foreign investors, and boosts international confidence in Pakistan’s technology landscape. By simplifying policies and offering strong institutional support, the SIFC has become a driving force behind the country’s digital transformation.
According to recent data, Pakistani developers introduced 764 Android apps and 289 iOS apps during the year. This growth reflects a rising appetite for locally designed digital solutions across multiple industries from fintech and gaming to health and education.
This accomplishment not only showcases Pakistan’s expanding talent pool and entrepreneurial spirit but also signals the nation’s growing competitiveness on the global digital stage. With continued innovation and strategic support, Pakistan is steadily emerging as a significant player in the international tech ecosystem.
