A shocking incident has surfaced in Karachi, where a newborn baby was allegedly sold by a private hospital to recover delivery expenses. Reported by Daily Jung
According to police reports, the incident took place on October 7 at a private hospital in Memon Goth, and an official FIR was registered a day earlier. The case was filed by the baby’s father, who claimed his child was taken away after he failed to pay hospital charges.
SSP Malir Abdul Khaliq Pirzada confirmed that police have recovered the newborn and handed the child back to the parents. The clinic where the incident occurred has been sealed.
Authorities added that the accused Dr. Zahra and Shama Baloch, a hospital employee who allegedly paid the bill and took the newborn are still at large. Police revealed that the baby had been sold in Punjab, but swift action led to the child’s recovery.
