
The Pakistan Super League (PSL) is entering a new chapter, as Chief Executive Officer Salman Naseer announced that an auction for two new franchises will soon take place a landmark move as the league completes its first decade.
Speaking at a press conference in Karachi, Naseer said all PSL agreements had reached the end of their 10-year term, and the league was now undergoing a fresh valuation process. He noted that despite early skepticism and criticism, the PSL had grown into one of the world’s leading T20 cricket leagues.
Naseer confirmed that Habib Bank Limited (HBL) will continue as the league’s title sponsor for the next two years, with a deal that reflects a 505% increase from the original contract.
Existing franchises will be reassessed under the new valuation system teams can retain ownership by matching the new price or re-enter the bidding process.
He also revealed that the upcoming PSL 11 will be hosted across multiple cities, showcasing the league’s expanding footprint. Addressing recent controversies, Naseer stressed that the PSL’s integrity and progress “will not be affected by individual disputes” and assured that issues like the Multan Sultans matter will be resolved privately.
Describing PSL as now the second-largest cricket league in the world, he emphasized that the next phase aims to strengthen its global reach and professional structure.
